This type of bogus voters was exposed after they conducted a direct house-to-house inspection.In the evening, the Congress verified whether the voters with Nepali names listed in the voter list at the house number of a building in Tonk-Miramar in Panaji lived in the same place. At that time, it was revealed that the voters in the voter list did not live in that house.After that, Congress state president Amit Patkar asked the Election Commission, “How did these Nepali names appear in the voter list?”Due to this mess in the voter list, the type of bogus voters has now come to the fore. Can Nepali citizens carry Indian voter ID cards?, Can they vote in our elections without taking Indian citizenship?,If yes, then under which legal provision? If not, then how did these names appear in the voter list? Patkar has raised this question.
Gomes family actually lives ‘there’
Congress regional president Amit Patkar went to the building in Miramar area and verified it. It was found that a family named Gomes lives at the address where the names of the Nepali citizens are given.However, Patkar said that the names of Arjun Nepali, Dal Bahadur, Minbhadar Kotkeni and Khadak Jaygadi are listed at this address in the voter list.
